Volunteer Roles

Frequently Asked Questions


At every event, you can choose a specific role and full or half-day time slots. Sign-up now by clicking the links above.

Tech Instructor: Lead the your class of bright-eyed Tech Divas through the curriculum. Coding experience required. Teaching experience a plus.

Tech Assistant: Work one-on-one with the girls and guide them through the programming process. Coding experience required.

Classroom Assistant: Help the instructor keep order in the classroom. Experience with youth a plus.

Non-Tech Volunteer: Assist with general tasks like set-up, registration, lunch, check-out, clean-up, and other misc. tasks that help the workshop run smoothly. Can-do attitude and smile a plus :)

Photographer Volunteer: Capture the excitement of the day on film. Camera required.

Social Media Volunteer: Build excitement on social media leading up to and during the event through tweets and Facebook posts. Smart phone or tablet required.
Who can attend a Black Girls CODE workshop?
Our workshops are open to all girls who are interested.

How do I register a girl?
Black Girls Code is not a membership-based organization. Register a girl by signing her up through our Eventbrite pages (links above.)

Are there scholarships available?
For all Black Girls CODE workshops, we offer a limited number of financial-need based scholarships on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can apply for all scholarships here. We look forward to supporting you!
