Congressional App Challenge

The 2015 Congressional App Challenge is open to all students, grades 9-12, who are eligible to attend high school in participating Congressional districts. (Check here to see if your district is participating.) The Challenge Submission Period will last from November 9th, 2015 to January 21st, 2016.

Students may compete as individuals or in teams of up to four students, as long as two of them reside in or are eligible to attend public high school in their Congressional District.
No prior computer science coursework is necessary. All eligible high school students are encouraged to participate, regardless of past experience!

​To enter, the student must register on www.challenge.gov and then find the competition for their particular district. All entries must be an original in concept, design and execution.

Opportunities to Learn to Code- The Flatiron School

The Flatiron School has partnered with NYC to provide free tuition to Flatiron School for 18-26 year olds without a college degree. The program includes 5 months of training on-campus in Brooklyn, along with a paid internship at a local tech company. Existing hiring partners include Kickstarter Microsoft, Buzzfeed, AppNexus, Betaworks, DoSomething.org, and more. Applications are open now through early January.
